Curriculum Vitae

Sebastian Schuol studied Philosophy, Psychology and Molecular Genetics in Erlangen and Tübingen up until 2009. He was a fellow in the Research Training Group “Bioethics” of the German Research Foundation at the International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities (IZEW) in Tübingen and completed his doctorate in Philosophy there with a thesis on the implications of epigenetics for biophilosophy and bioethics. From 2014 onwards he worked as coordinator of the EURAT group (ethical and legal aspects of genome sequencing) within the Heidelberg Region of Knowledge initiative and since March 2017 he has been working in the field of applied philosophy of science at the Center for Applied Philosophy of Science and Key Qualifications ZiWiS (since 1/1/2023 ZIWIS). His special interests are philosophy and history of science as well as the ethics of genetics.
